Testers contain the same original fragrances found in full-size perfume bottles but are offered at significantly reduced prices. These versions are manufactured by fragrance companies to promote their products. Testers are available in various sizes and packaging forms: some come in simple marketing packaging with or without a cap, while others are elaborately wrapped. However, the quality of the perfumes remains unaffected regardless of the packaging style. All testers are sold unused, containing the entire original quantity of fragrance in the container. Whether you’re buying for yourself or don’t require the box, testers offer an excellent opportunity to obtain high-quality fragrance at an even deeper discount.

The main difference between Eau de Parfum (EDP) and Eau de Toilette (EDT) lies in their concentration of fragrance oils, which affects their intensity and longevity on the skin:
- Eau de Parfum (EDP): EDP typically contains a higher concentration of fragrance oils, usually ranging from 15% to 20%. This results in a richer and more intense scent that lasts longer on the skin, often for 6 to 8 hours or even longer.
- Eau de Toilette (EDT): EDT contains a lower concentration of fragrance oils, typically ranging from 5% to 15%. As a result, EDT has a lighter scent and tends to fade more quickly compared to EDP. It usually lasts for around 4 to 6 hours on the skin.
In summary, Eau de Parfum is generally more potent and longer-lasting, making it suitable for evening wear or occasions when you want your fragrance to make a lasting impression. Eau de Toilette, on the other hand, is lighter and more suitable for daytime use or when you prefer a subtle fragrance that doesn’t overwhelm. The choice between EDP and EDT ultimately depends on personal preference and the desired intensity of the scent.
Fragrance notes refer to the different scents that make up a perfume or cologne. These notes are divided into three categories: top notes, heart notes (or middle notes), and base notes. Each note contributes to the overall fragrance profile and evolves over time as the perfume is worn:
- Top Notes: Also known as the opening or head notes, top notes are the initial scents perceived when the fragrance is first applied. They are typically light and fresh, meant to capture attention and provide the first impression of the scent. Top notes tend to dissipate relatively quickly, usually within the first 15 to 30 minutes after application.
- Heart Notes: Heart notes emerge once the top notes begin to fade. These middle notes form the core of the fragrance and contribute to its character and personality. Heart notes are often floral, fruity, or spicy, and they linger on the skin for a longer period compared to top notes, typically lasting for a few hours.
- Base Notes: Base notes are the final stage of the fragrance journey, appearing once the heart notes have fully developed. They are typically rich, deep, and long-lasting scents that provide stability and depth to the fragrance. Base notes are responsible for the perfume’s lasting power and often include ingredients such as woods, musk, or amber. They can linger on the skin for several hours or even into the next day.
Together, these fragrance notes create a harmonious blend that evolves over time, offering a multi-dimensional olfactory experience. Understanding the different notes in a fragrance can help in selecting scents that match individual preferences and occasions.
To ensure that your fragrance maintains its quality and longevity, here are some tips to prevent it from going bad:
1. Store Properly: Keep your fragrance away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, as heat and light can degrade the scent and alter its composition. Store it in a cool, dark place, such as a drawer or cupboard, to prolong its shelf life.
2. Keep Bottle Sealed: Always tightly seal the bottle after use to prevent air from entering and oxidizing the fragrance. Oxygen exposure can cause the scent to degrade over time.
3. Avoid Humidity: Humidity can affect the stability of the fragrance, so avoid storing it in areas with high humidity, such as bathrooms. Moisture can also lead to the growth of mold or bacteria in the fragrance.
By following these tips, you can help preserve the quality and longevity of your fragrance, ensuring that it continues to delight your senses for as long as possible.
